Lavender Lemons

I created this print after learning about Suzie Zuzek, a pattern designer of the 1960s who had a fabulous ability to intertwine eccentric motifs beautifully in hand painted layers of pattern.

The colors of this piece were inspired by the summery palettes of the 60s. I used a linocut printing process with screen printing ink to create the lemons and then designed the flowers in gouache, referencing Zuzek's intricate florals.
